GENESIS G80 VS Mercedes-Benz E 300 - HOW DO THEY COMPARE?
Genesis G80![]() | Mercedes-Benz E 300![]() |
When you go head-to-head with Mercedes-Benz - you had better bring your A Game - and that is exactly what the automakers at Genesis did when they conceived the G80 luxury performance sedan. Every curve, nuance, feature and specification was carefully thought out and reimagined to the full potential of what a luxury car can and should be. It's the new face of luxury and it has the other luxury brands like Mercedes-Benz taking notice.
Mercedes-Benz has always been the gold standard in automotive safety, revolutionizing active systems to make the roads less perilous. That's why we were pleasnatly surprised to see that the G80 offered so many more safety features as standard and optional equipment than the E300. Lane departure warning, lane keeping assist and cross traffic alert are all part of G80's standard equipment, and not available on the E 300. Blind spot monitor, auto-leveling headlights, and a rear side airbag come standard as well on the G80 but have to be part of an upgrade package when building an E 300.
Safety isn't the only area where E 300 comes up short. Let's talk about comfort and convenience. If you want the bells and whistles on your E 300, you better be prepared to open your checkbook. Not so with the G80. Adpative cruise control, satellite radio and a convenient hands-free liftgate come standard, but have to be added on to a E 300. Remote engine start, HID headlights, and fog lamps also come standard on the G80, as well as an optional rear parking aid, but are not offered at all on the E 300.
Lastly, when the rubber meets the road, you expect a luxury automobile to stand the test of time and for its manufacturer to back it with confidence. Genesis has the superior backing of a 5 year/60,000 mile basic warranty and 10 year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty, and 3 years/36,000 miles scheduled "door to door valet service" maintenance. Surprisingly, Mercedes-Benz only offers a 4 years/50,000 mile basic warranty and the same 4 years/50,000 miles for their powertrain warranty. Sad. Take a closer look at how the 2019 Genesis G80 excels in each area over the Mercedes-Benz E 300 and head to Genesis of North Kingstown to test drive a G80.
